Expired: Tips for using, cleaning and maintenance of mattresses

  • The mattress is something, which does not change frequently. Therefore it is necessary thoroughly to take care of it from the outset. To avoid any moisture and odors pent after factory packing of purchased mattresses, remove them from the plastic in which they were packed and leave them for a short time to be ventilated.
  • Keep the new mattresses according to the recommendations and instructions of the manufacturer. Watch for correct installation of the mattress and mattress frame. Improper installation can seriously damage the mattress.
  • Do not remove the raised mattress labels. Label information can be very useful. They are used for implementing the guarantee from the manufacturer. Often they contain useful information for the proper maintenance and use of the mattress, or have what is summer and winter side.
  • Do not install mattresses on substrates with wide straps, springs or metal surfaces without holes, because there is a danger of retaining moisture and mold. Use solely wooden lattice frame mattress that provides constant movement of air through them, protects and supports them well ventilated.
  • Use mattress protector. Quality protectors are the perfect way to ensure long life of the mattress because it kept clean, protected from dust, moisture and allergens. Particularly useful are waterproof protectors, especially for beds of small children, taking into account that the standard mattresses are not designed to be resistant to wetting thoroughly.
  • Recommended for new mattresses to rotate them during the first few months so that the bottom of which was for the legs to become a place for your head. It is also good to straighten the mattress from time to time, because it stabilizes its filling. We encourage you at least twice a year to change parties where you sleep.
  • To stop harmful moisture retention in mattresses, as well as odors and development of mildew should ventilate most often bedroom and mattresses (at least two or three times a week).
  • Do not use liquids to clean the mattress, because you can damage the filling, also avoid ironing and use of strong chemicals. We recommend you to clean the mattress using a simple classic vacuum cleaner. Some mattresses are covered with a zippered cover that can be removed and laundered.
  • Do not allow your kids to use mattresses as trampoline by jumping on them, because jumping can break or seriously damage the mattress frame, and if the mattress is spring may break. Remember that jumping on mattresses can lead to unpleasant incidents.
  • To avoid deformation of the mattress, never bend them also strive to sit deeper, and not at their ends, because there is the most vulnerable place for warping.
